That's a really strange statement to make.

*Leaving McVeigh's judgment to God is not the same thing as embracing him. To embrace him, well, that's a bit much.
*McVeigh's being at peace doesn't mean that he's right with God. He's at peace because he has been true to his own twisted drummer.
*If McVeigh gets to go to heaven, there's something quite pointless about the whole heaven/hell construct.
*God sets a very low standard if "moving towards him is all that's required."

Sounds to me like a pretty silly thing to say from a pulpit.
