Officers are generally "indef", at least the Academy grads used to be.
Interesting... the times, they must be changin'...
That last time I checked, once an officer applies for, and accepts, a commission, he's on the hook for a potential recall to active duty until age 62. Unless of course, he/she resigns that commission.
It's something known as the Officer Master File..
I have to admit that I had to dust off my copy of the Army Officer's Guide to recall whether it was 62, or 65..
And btw, it's now a 6 year MSO. It USED to be 8 years.
