Derek's Four Step Program to A Better Life of Non-Interference:

1. Politely ask them to desist or that you are not interested.
2. Ignore them
3. Tell them to mind their own business or alternatively, that you really don't give a s**t
4. Tell them to f*** off

In cases of extremis, skip straight to step 4.

Usually works well for me. But Im a pretty big guy, and its fairly easy for others to get the point by Step 3. ;)
