DJ Gemstar-TV Guide/Adelphia-2: TV Guide On Adelphia Systems PASADENA, Calif. (Dow Jones)--Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. (GMST) and Adelphia Communications Corp. (ADLAC) signed a 20 year Ineractive Program Guide agreement with a commitment to deploy TV Guide Interactive in substantially all Adelphia systems. In a press release Sunday, the companies said the agreement incorporates customary terms, including license fees, advertising/T-commerce splits, and Video on Demand/Personal Video Recorder integration. As a result of this new agreement, Adelphia will carry TV Guide Interactive in over 85% of its cable systems in the U.S., including all of Adelphia's major markets, and systems with Scientific Atlanta, or SA converters. TV Guide Interactive will replace SA's guide in Adelphia systems upon completion of the porting of TV Guide Interactive to Adelphia's Scientific Atlanta digital set-top box installed base. Adelphia ended the first quarter with more than 1.2 million digital customers, with about 100% of its customers having access to digital video service.
