The NWT is very rich in mineral resources, hosting some remarkable geology. The gold mines are large and rich, and the recent diamond mines are huge revenue producers. The lead and zinc mines were also very large and rich. In addition, uranium, cobalt, silver plus Be, Li, Ta, and other light metals are found in abundance. A recent focus on Pt and Pd has uncovered some interesting potential. I'm certain that more deposits will be uncovered.
Yellowknife starts to buzz in the summer as exploration crews move through the capitol on their way to the field an back again. It's an exciting, dynamic place, and I'm certain that there are more than 20 projects on the go "north of Yellowknife".
