Signal Technology Keltec Division Awarded State-of-the-Art Development Contract
DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 11, 2001--Signal Technology Corporation (``Signal'') (Nasdaq: STCO - news), a leading provider of electronics products for wireless communications and power management products in the commercial, defense and space markets, today announced that its Keltec Division in Fort Walton Beach, Florida has been awarded a $412,000 contract to develop engineering development models and pre-production units of very high-density, low-voltage power supplies. Isothermal Research Systems (ISR) has selected Signal's Keltec Division to design and develop high reliability power supplies utilizing cooling technologies developed by Isothermal Research Systems for the next-generation ``Spray Cooled EA-6B Aft Power Supply.''

``ISR is excited to team with a proven power supply leader like Keltec in bringing this revolutionary technology into military production,'' said Donald Tilton, President of ISR. ``As the Department of Defense continues to adopt more commercial technology, the market for high reliability, low-voltage power supplies will dramatically expand as the existing power supplies and distribution architectures near their end-of-life,'' said John Cotumaccio, President of Keltec.

About ISR

ISR, Inc. designs and manufactures turn-key power and thermal management systems for advanced electronics, using spray cooling technology. Applications in military and commercial markets include C41 systems, vetronics, avionics, radars/processing, communications equipment, servers and wireless base stations. Spray cooling is much more efficient than conventional air or conduction cooling, enabling size and weight reductions, higher density packaging, and improved energy efficiency. Systems are sealed, offering total environmental protection against dirty or corrosive ambient conditions and full EMT/RFI isolation. Systems can operate at higher ambient temperatures, often eliminating the need for air conditioning systems, further improving energy efficiency.
