Heatsinker, Re: To me, the most significant thing about the Intc conference call was when Barrett said that Intel had gained "a little bit" of market share. At first glance, this doesn't appear good for AMD. However, we must not forget that Intel has consistently maintained that they are maintaining market share when it is clear that AMD has made significant gains. So if Intel say their market share has gone up a little, that probably means the inverse: AMD market share has gone up a little.

If you apply the same logic here (Intel: "Market share about the same"; Reality: AMD gained market share), market share going up "probably a little bit" would translate to AMD held market share. Since Intel never made comments about gaining market share when in fact AMD was gaining market share, I doubt that they would lie in a public webcast. Probably they really gained a little bit market share, especially in retail. It remains to be seen of this can be offset by AMD's mobile and server gains.
