It's obvious you don't recognize how other tax treatments likely affect business activity to an even greater degree than individual rates tax rates for the rich...

Individuals pay the majority of taxes in this country but don't take my word for it, look it up.

Maybe you don't recognize where the money that isn't paid by the rich in taxes goes when it doesn't go to the government. It's a risky pain in butt to run a business with all the attendant headaches (I know this first hand). If I have x amount of capital to invest am I going to put it into treasuries or tax free munnis for a nice safe return or am I going to put it into a business, a company's equity or debt when I know full well that any return I get from that money will be taxed down close to the return level I can get from a safer investment? Reduced capital available to businesses reduces the amount of economic activity.

I've lost track of the number of different taxes my business pays from all the different taxing entities. I don't have to guess which came first the chicken or the egg when it comes to cities raising taxes and losing businesses. I have quite a few clients who decided to move their businesses over the city line to the county because the city's tax rate for personal property is exactly double that of the county. Same with real estate taxes. Whatever did come first, it NEVER helps to attract people and businesses to your city when you raise taxes of any stripe.
