INTRADAY’S MASTER STALK LIST / SECTOR MODEL v1.1 6-11-01

Below is our enhanced model sector model. Although we're monitoring trading action and volume across all of these sectors by using ALL of these stocks as components of these ‘custom sector’ lists, we'll be providing setups for, and trading mostly a subset – a *Hot List* of the best trading stocks within each sector, depending upon action in the sector and the tradeability of the stocks therein. These hot trading stocks are marked with an asterick (*). For day trading and intraday plays, we tend to stick to the those issues; for overnight plays and swing trades we will often be drawing from the full list.

We'll soon begin providing precise intraday snapshots of exactly where the money (volume) is flowing across each of these sectors relative to the average volume traded, 10/20-day average volume, etc. both by individual stock and for the sector as a whole (relative to that point in the trading session). This has two benefits: (1)getting us into the right sectors EARLY in the session, often before the big moves are made, and (2) always steering us into the right sectors, where the volume and price action is!

The format is: sector name, index (when avail), HOLDR ("), key stocks. Sometimes a stock which (logically, based upon their business/products) really belongs in one sector (e.g. JNPR, GLW - Telco Equipt) will appear in another (JNPR, GLW=>Networkers) because that how they TRADE. There are often judgment calls like that required in building custom sector indices.

Note, some major sectors (e.g. Airlines, Utilities, etc) have been excluded as we don't want to monitor and/or trade them. But we’re always open to considering a new sector. We do also follow a few other sectors (Utilities, Transports, Entertainment, Insurance, Chemicals, Cyclical, Non-Cyclical, Office Equipment, Mining, etc) but recommend that you not bother with them for now; we may introduce them later, but let’s keep the focus on this list for now. By definition, this list is constantly in flux as different stocks/sectors move in and out of favor, so we’ll be supplying updates. We think you'll find this list to be very valuable in your stock trading, once you start putting it to work! We will be conducting mini-seminars in June & July on exactly how to do that, starting with Deron's course tomorrow after the close (Steve will also cover this topic in July).
