You're inferring more than I intended. I was speaking about personal coping styles. What's the first thing people do when the doctor gives them bad news. Some pray. Some call their closest friends and hug. Some go into denial. Some call in experts. Some collapse. Some withdraw. We all get our strength from different places. It's just like extroverts get energy from groups of people and introverts are drained by them.

Regardless of what resources we draw on, there is a point at which we're on our own. We all die alone, for example. We'd better approach those points with either faith or bootstraps.
