Hi Scumbria; The i845 has only a single DDR channel. As far as the price of RDRAM coming down, it still has a long ways to go.

If all DRAM were free, I would think that Intel would still have some difficulty keeping DDR out of desktops. The problem is that the motherboards are more expensive. But it seems more likely that the DRAM makers will cut back on production and the price of SDRAM will rise again.

When SDRAM goes back up it is hard to predict what RDRAM will do. The recent fall in RDRAM pricing has been in an environment of collapsing SDRAM pricing, so if SDRAM recovers, who knows what RDRAM will do.
