Aren't the adhesives used only in surface mount applications while through hole or wire/lead to wire/lead requires solder?

I well know much of our world is surface mount, but aren't large power supply / amplifier jobs still mostly through hole with a great deal of larger audio & most military wire/leads to wire/leads also solder?
