OK,

I took tonight off just to tackle all of this. I have followed your post, I have updated fixes, I have ran diagnostics, etc. I have not tested monitor on another system, and I have not opened up the back of my computer. Otherwise, I have done the best I can.

The monitor driver wouldn't load because of missing files. As to a generic driver that I located on internet, I deferred to the Windows program saying: " a better driver is being used"--or something like that...

In diagnostics (nuts and bolts) there is a memory check program. My computer bar goes from 73% to 80 %--alternating continuously. Eventually, I click on "skip test" and move along.

(I even downloaded that noads program! so far, so good. This is a great thread!)

It seems to me that I've got a hard memory problem. I will keep following up on your many suggestions. You and super cow ;) have helped me be at ease here. I know I gotta do much of it on my own. Trying. CYA later.
