Funny, now that you mention it. I once saw some inconsistencies when Gary Smith from TheStreet.com drew the trend lines, and asked him about it. He said: "Trendline drawing is an 'art' instead of a science. I just try to draw a line that best captures the essence of the chart!" I thought by saying so, he meant that there was no real mechanical way of drawing a trend line (it's an art). May be I should ask him to clarify such statement?
