ALL:

From the conference call it is obvious that the Notebook Zip has had some problems. The fact that it's ship date continues to be pushed back is reinforcing my assumption. The Notebook market is a crucial battleground and Iomega is starting to stumble. The LS-120 will be ready to go at the end of this month and into July. Let's say Iomega ships in August or September. I believe that this is a lag that Iomega can not afford.

Iomega's inability to get this product out the door is also reinforcing large OEM's assumptions that Iomega still does not have reliable manufacturing capacity to meet OEM needs. Large OEM's will not risk interrupting JIT and product rollouts.

The LS-120 consortium is able to meet any demand for the product and has two of the largest Japanese electronics manufacturers supplying it.

Another problem I have with the "Strong Demand For Zip" is if this demand is as real as Iomega states it is, why hasn't Matshushita began producing the Zip for OEM's to help alleviate this strong demand.

It seems strange to me that a billion dollar electronics manufacturer like Matshushita with a struggling semi-business would leave money on the table by not producing the Zip.

This cross-liscensing agreement between the two was consumated a long time ago. Yet, Matshushita still will not producte any Zips.

Is Zip demand Illusionary? Illuminate me

Steve
