United States Court of Appeals
for the D.C. Circuit
UNITED STATES v. MICROSOFT CORPORATION
Nos. 00-5212, et al.
NOTICE CONCERNING OPINION RELEASE
The Court does not provide advance notice of the issuance of its decisions, and will not
do so in this case. Interested persons should be aware that although the Court regularly
issues opinions on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:00 a.m., that usual practice may not be
followed in this case. The issuance of this Notice should not be taken as a sign that
issuance of the opinion is imminent. Rather, it is intended to respond to the many inquiries
received regarding distribution of the opinion, and to inform interested persons that the
opinion, when it is released, will be available in the following forms:
‚ Paper copies of the slip opinion will be sent to all subscribers, and will be available
for purchase at the public counter of the Court of Appeals Clerk’s Office. There will
be a charge of $1.00 for every 50 pages or portion thereof.
‚ A text-file version of the opinion will be available on the Court’s internet home page,
cadc.uscourts.gov, and, for PACER subscribers, on the Court’s dial-up
bulletin board system, ABBS.
‚ A link on the Court’s home page will lead to a portable document format (“PDF”)
version of the opinion. This link will automatically spread the anticipated heavy
traffic seeking the opinion among several government web servers.
‚ The PDF version will be posted on the electronic case files (“ECF”) docket for the
Microsoft case, ecfp.cadc.uscourts.gov, with electronic notice sent to the
parties participating in the ECF system.
‚ The PDF version will be sent via e-mail to all subscribers of the Court’s e-mail
notification service (“listserv”) for the Microsoft case. All interested persons are
strongly encouraged to subscribe to the listserv to ensure prompt receipt of
the Court’s opinion. Instructions for subscribing to the listserv are available at
cadc.uscourts.gov. Listserv subscribers
will also receive notice from the ECF system.
‚ The opinion will not be distributed by fax under any circumstances.
