I have a weird question.
And you seem to be the one with enough info to ask!
A broker friend of mine in Florida has been hearing alot of rumours, esp from tech followers in his firm (Raymond James) that SGI is doing an immense amount of UNREPORTED government work. Not the stuff we all know about and is discussed in slick annual reports, but highly sensitive stuff, and one person said the code name was "THE BEAST."
Any enlightenment? He also said they said (don't you just love this 4th hand stuff!) that they will announce this program this year. We both have tried to research and ask about this...which is what brought me to this thread, but so far, we have learned nothing.
Once, when I owned CYRX, there was someone on that thread who had once worked for SGI, grew up in the Silicon Valley, and stayed in touch with SGI info. I will post this on CYRX to see if see is still around.
Any clues?
Also, as to insider buying, my cousin, who doubles as my broker, lives in San Jose. He cannot find out one thing about this rumour, but does report a high rate of EMPLOYEE stock purchases....esp in 1997.
My average cost is just under $21...so I'm a very enthusiastic cheerleader....have owned SGI about 18 months.
Thanks for any help.
