stak, re: A quick show of hands out there. Who would give up their Cable or ADSL with a sluggish PIII 500 for a smoking P4 1.7 with a 56K modem? I'd say not enough to maintain historical ASPs. Who is asking anyone to give up anything? Your point is flawed and your argument is idiotic. re: 100 or 200 or even 500 MHZ bumps in speed won't draw the shoppers in droves to the computer store anymore. What is the average speed of the installed base? What is the minimum speed offered now, what will it be in six months, what will it be in 12 months? John
