Its not a pattern UB, it refers to when a perfectly good trading signal (H&S neckline breaking for instance) fails to produce the expected result and instead reverses.

Has to do with the Sherlock Holmes novel. Someone else may know the story but it has something to do with a case being solved by the very fact that these hounds did not bark when they would have had to for the accepted scenario to hold water.
