There are many renewable energy sources, and each region has to find out, what's best for them. Denmark is a country with a large coast line, and therefore has good possibilities for good wind. Windmills are more and more often placed in the ocean, and does not require much maintenance. On your comment on european gasoline prices: Most of the price is tax. Currently, we pay approx. $1 for one liter. Most cars go between 10 and 20 km per liter, some even go up to 30km per liter. Many U.S. cars only go 5-10 km per liter, and this difference makes the price difference less a problem. Lars.
