CRM White Paper

While looking for the Epoch report on Siebel, I came across their report on the CRM software industry issued in May. I have been closely following and investing in this industry for four years and have never seen a report that comes close to the quality nor the comprehensiveness of this one.

The major issues covered in the report:

--Size and growth of the industry, segmented in detail I've never seen

--Detailed discussion of industry trends, including convergence of customer touchpoints, verticalization, consolidation, mass personalization, and partner relationship management.

--Explanation of why the service industry (which currently employs almost 80% of the working population) will leverage CRM software

--A clear, step-by-step model that quantifies the ROI of CRM at roughly 130%.

--Descriptions of the stages of CRM product adoption life cycle, supporting the opinion that the CRM market is at "a nascient stage relative to its potential."

I think this report is a must-read for anyone whose career is in the software industry and for any investor even beginning to think of an investment in the software industry. It can be found at epoch.com
