Stak, you only quoted half of my argument. Go back and read the rest of it. (But stop before the statement about Microsoft. <G>)

More profits for software developers means more developers will enter the marketplace, which will then foster competition and new ideas. Some of those new ideas may even require the use of multi-gigahertz processors which will be here sooner than we all realize. Piracy is a sure way to demotivate developers, which in turn will stifle new ideas, stagnate the software industry, and hurt the demand for faster hardware.

But hey, I don't want to push this subject any further. Suffice to say that my argument is purely ideological and an attempt at justifying anti-piracy efforts from an economic point-of-view.
