Andrew,

I never sold naked calls, just covered ones to hedge my long positions. Basically I dislike selling calls, but current market conditions make straddle plays a bit more risky, thus I had to settle for less.

Never owned QLogic either. Have some shares of BRCD which is in the same space.

My other cc vehicles are CIEN, SEBL and BRCM - all volatile but with some degree of predictability. With a few RT tools, the chances of a winning play could be greatly enhanced.
