MONACO, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Ariba Inc., (Nasdaq: ARBA), the leading business-to-business (B2B) eCommerce solutions provider, today announced at its LIVE Monaco user event, new services on the Ariba Commerce Services Network(TM) (Ariba CSN) and an expanded Ariba Network Connect program. The improvements increase the openness of Ariba CSN, enabling network participants to improve key business processes such as content creation and management, order management and fulfillment, invoicing and payment, inventory management, and direct materials planning and production.
With these new services Ariba CSN now supports more than 120 new business documents, including RosettaNet and xCBL business transactions, and provides the capability for the addition of multiple XML standards through new open document routing services. These expanded capabilities will allow Ariba Network Connect customers to use Ariba CSN to connect to the largest online community of trading partners for all of their strategic business processes, using any Ariba or third party application.
Ariba's Network Connect program enables companies running procurement, plant maintenance, supply chain and ERP applications to seamlessly integrate with the thousands of suppliers, marketplaces and value-added providers that comprise the Ariba CSN trading community. Ariba Network Connect and Ariba CSN lower the cost of value chain management implementations and transaction costs via access to an open, global, community of trading partners. By securely integrating existing procurement systems with Ariba CSN, businesses can benefit from the increased value of real-time B2B transactions, the dynamic routing of order/response transactions between suppliers and back-office enterprise applications, and the ability to shop hosted catalogs on Ariba CSN. In addition, Ariba Network Connect and Ariba CSN provide open participation to suppliers of all sizes and capabilities, with support for multiple standards, EDI, FAX, e-Mail and HTML.
"The success of supply chain and value chain management initiatives is dependent on open, scalable network-enablement of inter-enterprise processes," said Shannon Lynch, vice president Network Solutions, Ariba. "The development of Network Connect and Open Document Routing improve the core business processes, particularly those specific to direct materials procurement, used to interact with all the participants in an enterprise's value chain."
Expanded Network Connect Program
Ariba has teamed with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte Consulting to bring the capabilities of Ariba CSN to joint customers worldwide through rapid delivery of solutions based on Ariba Network Connect. As initial members of Aruba's Network Connect Program, these partners will provide experienced consulting resources, as well as industry knowledge and technical expertise into Ariba's development organization to further extend the value and reach of the Ariba CSN.
"Critical to our clients' success is the combination of leading technology solutions with our global best practices for supply chain, purchasing and fulfillment," said Greg Staszko, global Ariba alliance partner, Deloitte Consulting. "In working with Ariba to deliver Ariba Network Connect solutions for these processes, Deloitte is able to provide an important solution for our Global 2000 clients."
"As integration becomes an increasingly vital component of doing business, Andersen stresses to its clients the importance of being able to link all of their constituencies both inside and outside the enterprise," said Kevin Costello, Andersen's global managing partner for market solutions. "In working with Ariba to deliver Ariba Network Connect solutions, Andersen's clients can benefit from improved reliability and global access in key areas such as order management and fulfillment."
Network Connect goes beyond simply linking applications to Ariba CSN, it is a business-to-business integration solution that enables companies to interact with partners of all sizes in sophisticated collaborative relationships. Network Connect includes two key components: the Ariba Network Connector software, which enables any third party application to access Ariba CSN, and access to Ariba CSN services for Ariba Network Connect, which includes processes for enabling trading partners.
