Bruce,
Thanks very much, I'll be taking you up on that. Started reading last night....I thought I had come along quite well
with my methods and knowledge trading stocks....suddenly I feel almost like a complete amateur (which I am) in light of
the very detailed knowledge my eyes are being opened to!
One small example is the EZ (empty zone) which relates very much to the bases and breakouts which are my favorite plays.
When price bars and volume contract to a small range hinting at a coiled condition and explosive move to come. It's one thing to make self-taught observations, quite another to see reinforced in print theories and knowledge which have been perfected for years by real pros.
One revelation is the comment that as more and more traders
start using strategies which have worked in the past, that
those same strategies become less reliable since in effect we are all competing against each other. Makes me a bit sad in a way in that I can see I am perhaps working against myself by
revealing in detail here in this public forum my best and most powerful money making ideas. Not that anyone is listening anyway. I would have thought that as more traders play the same game, the combined effect would be more powerful in achieving the self-fulfilling prophesy of chart patterns, not less potent as I have been informed. The sad part is that it is very much in my nature to share and pass on to others what I consider valuable knowledge, only to see that I am dooming my ideas to eventual failure. Too many passengers I gather sink the ship.
I see there is a whole new stock trading world out there for me, which I have only now begun to see. It will be a high priority for me now to plow through the book as quickly as possible, then re-read to reinforce. Very exciting!

Regards,
Eichler
