LOL -- if it is a CPU, I've "tried" to overclock that pup ..... gggg the easiest method is definitely a motherboard with the software method of changing volts and multipliers rather than having to physically use the jumpers ... I hate to be short in my answer, but I'm going off line here in just a bit for a week, as my youngest daughter is getting married *(about 400 miles away) and our eldest daughter and I are the ONLY calm folks in the family right now .... gggg benn married to the same ol gal for 39 years and this is the absolute wackiest I've ever seen her ..... LOL remind me when I get back on line and I'll see if I can help you ... the PIII is a lot tougher than the AMDs but yes, it can be done without too much effort ... however, on the PIIIs, I've not been able to jump them up much more than 10percent, whereas on the PIIs, I could get some of them up 25percent and the AMDs, as a rule ..... upto 35percent on this OLD box I'm on right now .. it is my oldest and used only for SI and email, no surfing to speak of and NO trading or trading data ... I have a AMD 300 running at 400 ... have had it up to nearly 450 but it isn't too stable there .... running a SOYO board the ones I"ve had the most experience with are ABIT and SOYO although there are more out there .... talk to you later
