i always kinda' figure you're out there, alan. <g3> good to see your post, btw.

i'm going to take the route you've suggested with the existing crossover cable, as i noted to graystone a few posts back.

i'm encouraged by yet another happy customer testimonial ("I see that you are going to use the same networking setup I've been using for over a year... I consider the Linksys cable/dsl router the best piece of equipment I've purchased in some time").

i'll look into 'remote administrator' as well.
