Let me add to my comment that your answer to GZ was no answer. That answer amounted to "Wouldn't it be nice if we gave these people some money? Then some of them might spend it on education." It did not address the basic justice of your proposal or lack thereof. And I propose that I know why: because you cannot justify it in those terms. These are the facts:
1. No living American black was ever a slave in the US.
2. No living American ever owned any slaves.
3. Many current Americans are not natives and can have no responsibility for what happened in the US 140 and more years ago.
4. Many current Americans had no ancestors who were in what currently is the US when slavery existed.
5. Of those Americans who did have ancestors here prior to 1865, many of those ancestors worked against slavery, not for it.

In the light of the above, how do you justify a claim that we owe the descendants of the slaves reparations?

Be sure and either ignore the above or answer with a flippant non-answer. I wouldn't want you to break a perfect record.
