A little voice on the phone,
when is my daddy coming home,
the tear in my eye,
the bird in the sky,

a whisper in the air,
you know how I care,
so turn out the light,
it will be alright,

One more day on the road,
I have to haul this last load,
then onto into town,
where I scare away that frown,

A long trip in life,
almost home to my wife,
with the little ones so glad,
to finally see there Dad,
