johnd, I think I will try a little creativity with this post. Those that understand will get it. Those that don't will scratch their head and think I'm crazy.

Like Arno, I am long MSFT.

- With MSFT the journey is the reward.

- Gates keeps his herd running roughly WEST, the gradient pointing to profits, success and new markets over time.

$170 or $200 it doesn't matter much to me when. But I'm 99.9999% sure it will do that and much much more. Investing in MSFT and gaining a glimpse of how 21st Century companies will operate is like - metaphysical in nature. Release your fears, let go. What is the summer of 97, but a season? It is less than the blink of an eye in the scope of the time continum. An overall market correction? Anything is possible, but this is why I prefer to pick and invest in individual stocks. I don't buy the market. As far as I am concerned, MSFT is never more that 12 months away from a new high. If you are a long term investor keep your eyes on the prize and ride with MSFT towards the objective that can never be reached.

Where do you want to go today?

You come to a fork in the woods and the sign reads

<------ ONE WAY ------>

on the far side of the globe or in the bend in time you understand their is MSFT somewhere out there at the end of your investment journey.

Regards,
Brian
