Brian, Well written. Buy and Hold is the obviously the best strategy. But some of us try to maximize returns by looking a little bit to the left and right once a while. Though I would NEVER short MSFT, NEVER buy puts in MSFT, etc.. I am an eternal bull on this stock. There was a period of 3 years from 93- to end of 95 where MSFT went nowhere and then the ascend resumed. Similarly the largest decline from current price ever has been 25% so. I don't how it did during some great corrections like 87 crash, and 89 correction - just as a mattern of interest. Were you invested in 87, 89 in MSFT?
