Distances are much greater in the U.S., no doubts about that. And you also use something, that no private homes need here: Airconditioning.

I don't think we should discuss Kyoto on this thread, but I see no logic why CO2 per area should be a fair way of measurement. Why should Denmark be able to let out so much CO2, just because we have a big inhabitable area on Greenland?

As far as I understood, Clinton never really accepted Kyoto either, so Bush only says what Clinton did...

Btw.: Denmark will most likely benefit from increased world temperatures, so we don't support Kyoto for our sake.

There is not much doubt, that the oceans will rise, that some small pacific islands will vanish, and that Denmark will save even more oil and gas because we don't have to warm up our houses so much. I just dislike buying new maps of europe all the time :-)
