it shows that the Dow is doing better. My contention is that in times of trouble, money that stays in the market will flow to the big liquid stocks that populate the Dow. In addition, it's an easy index to prop by the big boyz (absent a real disaster)to make folks think things are all right.

I'm watching things closely re; is there a recession or not. I don't see things I saw in the last couple of downturns. I'm hoping we just skate by with no growth for a couple of quarters.
