[Amati added to Russell 3000]

Pat,

It's not the S&P 100 but it's a start. When a company is added to the bigger indexes, the stock often gets a boost in price and volume due to index fund buying I believe. Perhaps we'll get a tad of this. I'm not sure how much we can expect from the Russell 3000, however.

If Soros didn't short when the price was close to 20, I think this issue has really been a non-issue. He is now a major investor in Amati technology, and I suspect it is more long term money than trading money. I see this as an endorsement of Amati by a shrewd investment team. I wonder if the shorting option was originally inserted in case the stock pulled a Netscape or PressTek, he could then play the volatility downward. He's a savvy trader, but I suspect he knows a ten-bagger when he sees one, too.

Your never ending source for idle speculation,

Richard
