Hi David, you are very correct that as sterling has slipped below 1.40 it has made 15 year lows. We've certainly
been below the lows of the Famous George Soros collapse in the British Pound during the last Q of 1992.

The Ultimate low on the move occurred early in 1993, Just north of 1.41.

this website has very good Long term PDF charts on the currencies and other markets as well

mrci.com

the Sterling chart goes back to 1975 and we can see the the famous 1985 low in the GBP near 1.05

there was a tremendous amount of talk about Parity between the Pound and the USD being achieved.
The talk was so overwhelming that of course the Pound never made it quite down to the 1 to1 relationship, so
many were thinking would happen.
