"Killing innocent people is never justified. NEVER."

KILLING???? INNOCENT???? PEOPLE???? NEVER???? JUSTIFIED????

NEVER????

Haven't you heard? Never say never, Because saying never is "absolutely" never allowed!!!!!!!

Are these just words? Do they have any contact with the real world?

Here's a good one from a book I picked up over at the recycle depot. I guess they missed the trash bin.

"THE RIGHT TO LIFE"
"We can speak coherently of a right to life only as a claim-right, correlative to a duty not to kill and not to do things that things that are likely to cause death. Fundamental though such a right is, it cannot be absolute. As the world is, wars and revolutions cannot be ruled to be morally completely out of the question. The death penalty, I believe, can. The prearranged killing of someone at a stated time is a special outrage against the humane feelings which are a central part of morality,..."blah blah blah. Mackie, "ETHICS (inventing right and wrong)"

How does that song go?
"FEEEE-lings, nothing more than FEEE-lings..."

At least he's not pretending that reason is the central consideration as you try to. I guess that rule doesn't cover all the little babies that are summarily executed every day At three o'clock appointments through unnecessary abortions. Watching you defend abortion, while railing against unjust killing, is just about enough to make my skin crawl. You are right about TM not being innocent though. His execution was just, don't you think? Why are people who are for the "RIGHT" to kill innocent unborn children, also the same people most likely to oppose the death penalty?

"For the sake of the children,"

Ah yes, the children. That has a certain ring to it. I think I once heard that just as I was being set adrift. LOL! It does seem to be a handy excuse. "Smack Water Jack" would have heartily approved.
