"No apparent reason" seems a little overstated to me, since he does explain in great detail why he thinks it's a problem and he does cite specific evidence to support his concerns. As for believing what he says, he has stated what his background is, and the work he has done elsewhere on his website lends credibility to the notion that he has some expertise in the area. While I don't automatically believe all experts, when someone with apparent expertise says there is a serious problem, I am inclined to at least take it seriously, at least until the concerns are given a point-by-point rebuttal. The Microsoft responses he published don't seem to accomplish that.

As for skepticism, OK I can buy that.
