Hitachi Zeroes In On Data Storage Thursday, June 14, 2001 <<TOKYO (Nikkei)--Hitachi Ltd. (6501) intends to make data storage solutions a key component of its operations, the company announced Wednesday. The company outlined plans to invest more than 200 billion yen by the end of fiscal 2002 in equipment, R&D, and mergers and acquisitions in order to position itself as a leader in the data storage field. It also aims to increase its software development and systems engineering staff by at least 600 employees.
