SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2001--Starbase Corp. SBAS, the leading provider of end-to-end collaborative products for both the development and management of content and code for e-business applications, today announced a strategic technology partnership with Software Prototype Technologies (SPT), the pre-imminent software test consulting firm specializing in requirements-based testing.
The partnership will combine CaliberRBT(c), Starbase's requirements-based test case design tool, and Rapid Requirements/Rapid Test(c)(RR/RT), SPT's integrated requirements verification and testing solution to create an advanced testing environment.
"The new front-end interface provided to Starbase by SPT allowed us to implement CaliberRBT quickly and with minimal training," stated Jim Canter, quality assurance (QA) director, EGreetings Network Inc. "Using the combined product allowed our QA team to design comprehensive test cases before applications were ready for test. Our QA practice was finally able to keep pace!
"With the coverage afforded by using CaliberRBT, statistics proved that our average undiscovered defect rate was reduced by more than 95%. The new fully automated front-to-back product was critical in our achievement of consistent early launches with extraordinarily low defect rates, thus giving us a competitive advantage."
"Clients will now be able to quickly build a graphical model of application functionality," said Peter Becker, president of SPT. "There is no other tool or process available to QA professionals that can provide the quality of test products that the combined solutions of CaliberRBT and SPT RR/RT can deliver. We routinely receive zero defect implementations for our clients."
"Starbase's technology has gained broad acceptance across a wide range of industries," stated William R. Stow III, president and CEO of Starbase.
"SPT's extensive experience and leadership in the requirements-based testing market makes them an ideal partner for Starbase. This alliance provides Starbase customers as well as SPT's customers with access to the technology, environment and expertise required to successfully build and test high-quality software applications."
Under terms of the partnership, SPT's graphical modeling tool will be integrated with CaliberRBT to enable the seamless modeling of functionality and subsequent generation of test products. In addition, SPT will provide test-engineering services to Starbase clients that are seeking to rapidly implement business-critical software development solutions.
