Crossroads Systems Settles Patent Suit Against Pathlight Crossroads Systems Inc., Austin, Texas, said it has settled its patent infringement suit against Pathlight Technology Inc., a recently-acquired unit of Advanced Digital Information Corp., with Pathlight admitting infringement. Crossroads filed the suit in April 2000 alleging Pathlight's SAN Router and SAN Gateway products infringed on a Crossroads patent. The suit went to trial June 6. Crossroads Systems said Pathlight settled the matter and validated Crossroads patent with a $15 million lump sum cash payment, which represents past damages and a pre-paid royalty. Advanced Digital's shares closed at $17.97, down 36 cents, or 2%, in Nasdaq Stock Market trading Wednesday. Crossroads' shares were halted at about 4:30 p.m. and last changed hands at $5.96, down 13 cents, or 2.1%, on Nasdaq trading
