Re : gold / turmoil / prudent protection, etc. -- I agree with you on all points. But -- something Ed Hart (now deceased, formerly a commentator on FNN) said regarding gold really "struck a chord" with me. He said : if and when the time comes that you REALLY need the gold in your portfolio, you are talking about a scenario where gold will soar exponentially beyond belief for maybe a day or two, and that is it. And, this event may not happen in one's life time. I got tired of having some of my money committed to gold, and dumped all gold-related stuff around 6 or 7 years ago. Jon.
