NV, Here's a link I think I posted before but believe worth repeating: Subject 50782 I don't read every word of every post, just enough to remind me that the current economic climate is not too hot, not even simmering, kinda cooling off you might say. The layoffs are a stark, real reminder that with less employment, there will be less money being spent to fuel the economy, which should further erode earnings, which should.....a vicious cycle that ends...where? Note that there are many different businesses and sectors which are feeling the pinch, not limited to certain sectors of technology. True, what you say about traders knowing the bad news for a long time. It's just that the markets don't exactly express that knowledge in orderly, timely fashion. It's almost like everyone waiting for the cue to jump like lemmings off the cliff. When the cue is given, market moves can be frightening and incomprehensible. I guess that's why I believe in charts so much. Seems to show those cue cards quite nicely. No reasoning required. Regards, Eichler |
