I don't give a rat's ass whether you believe the story of my voting record ... or not. You're a crackerjack lawyer. What would my motive be for lying about my voting record from 1972 to present? Why would I make up something like this? I just tell it like it is, pal, and if the story seems a little incredible to your New England sensibilities, then wake up and take a good look at how the Republican Party has changed the past 20 years. The Lindsays, Rockefellers, Percys, Danforths and other intelligentsia have been replaced by former bug exterminators from Texas and deadbeat fathers and weenies like Bob Livingston, the man who would be speaker but whose political career was cut short by Larry Flynt, of all people.

Let's see. Four senators and 10 House members have switched from Dem to GOP the last decade, but Jim Jeffords in your eyes is the anti-Christ and my story is too incredible to believe.

The hypocrisy in the impeachment is that it was strictly a right-wing witch hunt over the president's inability to keep his John Henry under control. How many times have we discussed this subject? About 20? Don't continue to insult me by bringing up the "it-had-nothing-to-do-about-sex-but-everything-to-do-about-perjury-obstruction-of-justice" argument. Perhaps you can refresh my memory: How many crimes has Clinton been convicted of?

Bush has been a major disappointment. He can't even keep his own party under control. He governs not by consensus but by fiat ... as if he had some sort of clear mandate -- as Reagan had -- to bring about change.

I await your apology for impugning my integrity by implying that I am a liar.
