Re: "functional" YES! Whenever tele-marketers phone me I tell them about my wonderful pencil sharpener shaped like a nose. "You know the kind where you put the pencil up a nostril".

They immediately cut off the sales pitch and hang up. I doubt if I'll ever hear from those particular callers again.
