The telcom slump facing GSM companies relates entirely to their inability to make enhancements to the existing networks, including GPRS and WCDMA. It seems pretty outrageous that these companies cannot deliver the inferior versions of 3G CDMA. The 3 year lag time between DS CDMA and MC CDMA is really annoying. I wish the GSM companies would get it together - I guess they are waiting for synchronous/asyncronous base stations to make the systems work. I can hardly blame GSM equipment companies for failing to deliver - the real shame is with the telco service providers that payed billions for spectrum based on a technology that everyone knew would not work in it's present form. It's a real MCF.
