OT: Brian, You have somehow conditioned yourself to buy when prices are cheap. You are doing the opposite of what the big boys on Wall Street want. They want you to sell now. That is why all these downgrades and all tend to come at the same, opportunistic time, for maximum effect.
There sure does seem to be some manipulation going on here. The only question is, how far does it go, and how much of this is just market cycles and coincidence. It is interesting though that you only heard good things about JDSU at prices 10 times higher, but right now, nobody has anything good to say about the company, despite the fact that they have not really made any significant management errors, other than not anticipating this downturn (e.g. I don't think they were lending money to their customers).
I am for the idea of just about everyone on Wall Street loosing their job. They could take people right off the street to replace them, main street that is, and they could not possibly do a worse of a job. Too bad us "retail" investors don't get a say in this.
Thanks for your input. Best of luck with it. I will do some buying today also, but not sure what at this moment.
Regards,
