ADVISORY/California ISO Unveils Plan for Notifying Public of Possible Rotating Outages
(BUSINESS WIRE)--
STORY: The California Independent System Operator (California ISO) will unveil its plan responding to Governor Gray Davis' Executive Order to provide 48-, 24-, and one-hour notifications when there is a high possibility of rotating outages.
BACKGROUND: The California ISO will roll out its new notification program as grid conditions warrant. The California ISO will use e-technology as its primary tool to issue forecasts for potential blackouts 48-hours out, updated 24-hours in advance, based on such factors as weather, plant outages, and supply and demand.
