I don't think Kodak is this stupid. Kodak would only gain from selling a camera using a CD for storage if Kodak actually made the CD, and its product could be differentiated from any other CD. That would probably not be the case here. So my feeling is that Kodak may have been interested in DataFrame on the theory that the media is currently cheaper than compact flash, but then this doesn't account for the higher cost of the DataFrame mechanism. So if they make cameras using the DataFrame, they're not going to be able to undercut the makers who simply put a low capacity compact flash card in the camera. On the other hand, a DataFrame in a Kodak camera would probably be better than a minidisc in the Sony line, and maybe Kodak wants to compete with Sony.

As I said in my earlier comments, flash memory looks more and more like the storage media of choice for a growing number of applications from cameras to computers.
