That's the only thing which matters when making a decision to buy or sell shares at this point. The only reason to sell here is if one believes that there is significant "new bad news" which will soon come to light.

Telecom planning on both the supply and the demand side is done with a horizon of years, not quarters (or weeks). Unless one believes we're headed for a global depression the macro environment over the next quarter or two should have little impact on the fortunes of major carriers. Except for those emerging carriers caught in the credit crunch (TSIX certainly, others likely, GX no way) the climate is fine. Capacity will be taken out of the system by bankruptcies while at the same time equipment costs will decline significantly. In the meantime demand will continue to grow significantly over the next several years, especially on subsea routes as the Internet continues to grow much faster outside the US than domestically.
