What makes you think that the "Yanks" massage their inflation statistics? The annual US inflation as of May is 3.6%. The annual US core inflation is 2.5%. Those numbers are very close to the Canadian numbers and, given the similarity of the two economies, confirm that the claims that the US "massages" its inflation numbers are yet another example of message board paranoia.
